Thursday Afternoon Fellowship
Thursday Afternoon Fellowship (or TAF, as it’s commonly known) meets on most weeks during the year, although we have breaks around Christmas, Easter and over the summer. We are a friendly group of women who join together to pray, sing and learn from the Bible, which we then follow with a cup of tea and biscuits. There are usually about twenty-five of us or so from across the church family (of various ages) and visitors and new members are always very welcome. The meetings, which take place in the Church Centre, begin at 2:30pm and we’ve normally finished chatting over tea by about 4pm.
On the first Thursday of the month (except January and over the summer) we meet for lunch at 1pm. This is followed by a short gospel talk, which tends to start at about 2pm. The lunches are open to both men and women and we’d love to see you there if you can make it. The lunch is quite popular so try to let us know if you are coming – please telephone to leave a message with the church office to say if you are planning to be there so we can make sure we cook enough food!
During the holiday breaks we tend to hold events that people can easily invite friends to. These always have a short evangelistic talk that explains the gospel. In 2010 we had a series of lunches and ‘sing-a-long’ movies over the summer, which we plan to repeat, and an informal Christmas tea dance. We’re always looking for new ideas so please let us know if you have any thoughts about interesting and fun events.
