Office Assistant, St Ebbe's Church, Oxford

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week), Monday-Friday

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £14,000 to £18,000 per annum, depending on experience

St Ebbe’s Church is seeking an enthusiastic individual to assist the Senior Administrator to provide exceptional administration. This is an ideal early-career opportunity for someone with excellent organisational skills to gain experience in a wide variety of administrative tasks in a supportive training environment, or for someone who wishes to develop their administration skills within a church environment.

St Ebbe’s is a busy church, with a wide range of activities, particularly during term-time, and a central staff team of about 30 people including ministry apprentices. We have grown over recent years and wish to enhance the quality of our administration to support this growth and to enable further growth.

The Office Assistant will undertake a wide variety of administrative tasks under the direction of the Senior Administrator, including welcoming and reception duties, communications, general administration, assisting with finance and facilities management and providing support to the South Central Ministry Training Course.

You will be a highly-organised, practical and detail-oriented person who is quick to learn and can keep track of a diverse range of activities. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a small team. You will be competent in using office IT systems and using email, standard Microsoft Office products and other office equipment. You will be a committed evangelical Christian and your belief will inform all aspects of the performance of your role.

This is a full-time permanent post (a job share arrangement could be considered). Ideally, the person appointed would be able to start as soon as possible.

Kitchen Manager, St Ebbe's Church, Oxford

Hours: Part-time (7 hours per week)

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £4,000 to £5,000 per annum, depending on experience

St Ebbe’s Church is seeking an enthusiastic individual to have oversight of the St Ebbe’s kitchen to increase efficiency and to train apprentices and volunteers in cooking procedures to enable the provision of high quality, safe food for those who attend events and activities at St Ebbe’s.

St Ebbe’s is a busy church, with a wide range of activities, particularly during term-time, and a central staff team of about 30 people including ministry apprentices. We wish to enhance the quality of our catering and food provision to support this growth and to enable further growth.

The Kitchen Manager will undertake a variety of tasks, including maintaining kitchen systems and ensuring checks are carried out regularly; ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations and St Ebbe’s kitchen and catering procedures; providing training; assisting with planning and doing some cooking in support of our activities.

You will have a Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate, or a Level 2 certificate and a willingness to obtain a Level 3 certificate within the probationary period. You will have experience of managing large-scale catering, excellent organisational and planning skills, experience of managing or overseeing the work of others and a good practical understanding of compliance with food hygiene and similar regulations. You will be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.

This is a part-time permanent post at an average of 7 hours per week, with the bulk of the work to fit within school term-times. Some work may be required in school holidays, but the level of work required would be reduced. Ideally, the person appointed would be able to start as soon as possible.
