Serving in the summer
The summer is an excellent opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus. We reckon that a great way to put your summer to use is to go on a summer camp or a short-term mission.
Each summer all over the country thousands of children and teenagers go on a Christian camp. They are run to give them the chance to have a great holiday and to find out about Jesus for themselves. For them to run smoothly lots of practical help is needed and that’s where you could come in! Serving on a camp by helping with washing up, cleaning etc. is a great way to be involved in serving the Lord Jesus as well as being lots of fun. It’s also a great way to grow as a Christian through excellent teaching offered in the student programme. If you’d like some more information, do email Dave Reid.
Summer teams are a way to experience what mission work abroad can be like. Each summer St Ebbe’s organise a number of trips to different parts of the world. In 2010 a team of 7 Brookes students from St Ebbe’s went to Kenya for almost 3 weeks where they helped build a house and ran a Bible club for children. More information about teams in 2011 will be available in about December.
